Washington, D.C. – July 31, 2024 – CarePortal was honored to participate in a White House convening on July 30, 2024, focused on transforming child welfare in the United States. Adrien Lewis, CarePortal’s founder and President, represented the organization on a distinguished panel that discussed innovative approaches to disconnecting poverty from maltreatment within the child welfare system.

During the panel discussion, Adrien Lewis shared his personal journey that inspired the creation of CarePortal and highlighted the platform’s impact. “Twelve years ago, when my wife and I started fostering, we were not prepared at all. But we did have community,” Lewis said. “CarePortal was born out of the idea that by mobilizing local churches and agencies, we can meet families’ needs in real-time, preventing crises before they escalate.
